Our Planet

Our Planet - our beautiful planet.

When we first decided we were going to take the plunge and create our own wax melts business, one of the first items on our to-do list in our first 'official' business meeting was to decide just how we were going to ensure we could do this, whilst remaining as environmentally friendly as possible.  After a ton of research, and a whole lotta coffee (fair trade of course), we meticulously selected our ingredients and suppliers, whilst ensuring they met with our strict requirements to limit our impact on this beautiful planet which we call home.

So, what are we doing?  Well let us tell you...

Firstly, for every single product we create we spend a huge amount of time researching and seeking out the best suppliers to ensure all of our ingredients are vegan, cruelty free, biodegradable and/or recyclable.

Being an environmentally conscious business, we are 100% committed to ensuring we always strive to meet our core values and beliefs, which means that all of our wax melts are made with Eco Soy Wax, vegan and cruelty free fragrance oils, plastic free and biodegradable plant-based glitters, ethically sourced, cruelty free and plastic free mica powders and dyes, and recyclable/biodegradable packaging.  Additionally, we promise to only ever source and stock ingredients which are vegan friendly and cruelty free.

Why Soy Wax?

Soy Wax is a natural alternative to old-fashioned paraffin wax and is derived from soybeans - a hydrogenated vegetable oil.  Paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, which is known to produce harmful substances when burned.  In contrast, soy wax is completely natural, containing nothing artificial, and is therefore better for the environment and better for you!

Our Packaging

Every aspect of our packaging and shipping materials has been discussed and researched in great detail, to the point that we now talk about biodegradable cellophane bags in our sleep.  From the point that our melts are removed from their birthing trays, slipped into our biodegradable cellophane sleeves and finished with our beautiful paper logo stickers, to the point that they arrive on your doorstep, boxed up in a luxurious white recyclable cardboard box, lovingly wrapped up in recyclable tissue paper and safely contained in a gorgeous pink recyclable bag on your doorstep, we assure you every effort has been made to limit our impact on the environment.

WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature)

Having been inspired by David Attenborough's recent campaigns to raise awareness of the desperate need to "re-wild" our planet, we made the decision to support WWF by pledging to donate 10% of the sale price of every one of our Leopard Print burners sold.

Did You Know?

There are only around 100 Amur Leopards left in the wild, and their habitat is under threat from logging, forest fires and road and industrial development and there are only around 4,000 Snow Leopards left in the wild, as a result of them being incredibly vulnerable to poaching, and due to the reduction in prey.

The WWF are an absolutely fantastic organisation and you can be sure that every penny raised goes towards something incredibly important.  They are the world's leading independent conservation organisation and their mission is "to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together".  They are working to find ways to help "transform the future for the world's wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet".

Climate Positive Workforce

In addition to our efforts to ensure our products are as environmentally friendly as possible, we are also extremely proud to be offsetting our carbon footprint by supporting Ecologi in their mission to combat climate change through reforestation.  We couldn't be happier to be working with this fantastic organisation, who are doing some incredible work towards funding climate projects across the world.  To see what we've done so far, including how many trees we've planted and how many tonnes of CO2 we've offset, check out our Ecologi profile here.
